SW40VE / Sigma series... Is this a good gun or not?

I have read both good and bad things about this gun. The bad stuff was mainly with the first couple of models for this gun. Now all the bad stuff has been worked out from what I'm reading. I think overall it is a good gun. Has been very dependable now. I have shot at least 500 rounds or better and never had any jam up on me. I know the trigger is a bit harder to pull. Will the trigger let up as time moves on?
