Question about donation of mom's house to Habitat for Humanity?

When my mom died in November 2005, she did not leave a will. I am the sole living heir, but the house and property is not in my name. I donated the house to Habitat for Humanity. I just today found out that there is a $9,000 judgment against the property and Habitat for Humanity told me, "We know you can't afford to pay it, and we don't afford to pay it." I'm not responsible for this, am I? I can't afford $9,000, and I don't want to mess with that house or property. Can the State just take over the house?
