2000 camry 4 cyl- engine is LOUD when I step on the gas?

Getting good gas mileage, not over heating, RPM is fine. When I step on the gas, the engine gets REALLY LOUD. It seems to be coming from the front of the car. Any ideas? Idling a little rough too. Exhaust manifold maybe?
