Why cant we get rid of the taks test?

I know how you feel. I hated the taks test too when i was in high school and so does my teachers. But the test is required by the state and even the school district can't get rid if it. It's used to measure students' academic levels and probably to check if the teachers are doing their job according to students' answers.
