Best shoe for hiking and walking in different terrains in rural Costa Rica?

I'm going to rural Cost Rica in the summer and I need some good shoes to hike in, zipline in, and white water raft in. We are also going to volunteer at a local school in a poor area. What reasonably priced shoe would you recommend?
