Should doctors force-feed anorexics?

No doctors should not be able to force feed anorexics. Forcing someone with a mental disorder to do something that they truly believe is sinful can have horrible effects on their mind. Force feeding is actually an obstacle to treatment. If anorexics fear that they will be force fed, they are less likely to get help from professionals. Also if an anorexic who is severely underweight is force fed, it can lead to Hypophosphataemia (reduction of phosphates in the blood) which causes heart failure.
